From a small town to a world traveller who has visited more than 75 countries, I’ve been fortunate to work for world class companies, building up and leading international teams to deliver business transformation and corporate sustainability programmes for client organisations around the globe to change, thrive and grow.

I myself grew up in a small town in the southeast countryside of Brazil to an Italian-Portuguese mother and a Portuguese-Brazilian businessman and politician father.

Named as “Geraldo Lucio Marques de Oliveira”, at the age of 2, my godmother started calling me “Gutty”, and this nickname has accompanied me for life, leading me to be known as “Gutty Marques”.

After serving in the Navy for four years I went on to graduate from University as a Production Engineer. At that time I had a chance to work for Maua’ Shipyard, the first ever shipbuilding company of Brazil created by the British in 1865 to repair ships deployed in the Paraguay war. In the early 1980’s, Brazil became the second largest shipbuilder in the world, behind Japan alone, which motivated the company to sign up a technical exchanged agreement with Hitachi Zosen Group of Japan.

Living in Japan from 1988 to 1991, I studied for a master’s degree at Waseda University and worked as a consultant in the industrial organisation field. Just before the Christmas of 1989, something wonderful happened to me and my wife’s Rosaly lives, our first child, Hannah, was born at the Catholic Hospital in Tokyo.

Back to Brazil in 1992, I joined the Business Transformation Consulting at IBM, founding five years later TGIX Technologies, an IBM reseller, when I developed the vision and the plan for the creation of Izeebz.

Izeebz Easy Online Business was founded in 2005 as an innovative integrated platform and business practice to provide consultancy, advisory, mentoring, training and information services to help business owners to face the challenges and achieve success in the emerging digital economy.

Actively operating from 2005 to 2007 and 2010 to 2012, we advised entrepreneurs in strategic planning, business plan development, market strategy and segmentation, digital marketing, sales training and corporate finance.

Hit by the financial crisis of 2007-2008 we had to freeze the operation that was only resumed in 2010. Again economic instability made us freeze the business for a second time in 2012, when I returned to work on projects for large corporations and government.

Recently reborn, we decided to join The Six Figure Mentors (SFM) as a Partner, building our online business to continue to helping others to realize their full potential through inspiring, engaging, mentoring, educating, coaching and giving back more than what we have received so far.
